Aron Modig no se presentará a la reelección para dirigir la Juventud Demócrata Cristiana de Suecia.

Aron Modig, el político que viajaba en el automóvil donde murieron Oswaldo Paya y Harold Cepero, dejará la presidencia de la Juventud Demócrata Cristiana de Suecia.

El político no se presentará a la reelección en mayo, informaron medios suecos.

Modig dijo que "los terribles sucesos" del verano pasado en Cuba no han incidido en su decisión.

El español Ángel Carromero, sentenciado en Cuba a cuatro años de cárcel por el mismo suceso, llegó el sábado a su país para cumplir el resto de la condena.

Custodiado por agentes españoles de la Interpol, Carromero, dirigente de Nuevas Generaciones del Partido Popular (PP), llegó al aeropuerto madrileño de Barajas a bordo de un vuelo regular de la compañía Air Europa procedente de La Habana.

Fue trasladado a la cárcel de Segovia.

Modig argumentó que dormía cuando se produjo el accidente, el pasado 22 de julio, cerca de la ciudad de Bayamo.
