El espía Fernando González, encarcelado durante 15 años, será liberado el 27 de febrero pero deberá permanecer en Estados Unidos durante tres años, bajo un régimen de libertad supervisada, según la Oficina Federal de Prisiones, informa Reuters.

González, de 50 años, fue arrestado por el FBI en 1998 junto otros cuatro agentes, que fueron condenados en 2001 por 26 cargos de espionaje para el régimen de Fidel Castro.

El agente, a quien se conoce también como Rubén Campa, fue sentenciado a 19 años, una condena que se redujo por buen comportamiento en una apelación en 2008.
